Position Overview
This role is responsible for leading geotechnical investigations, preparing technical reports and recommendations, supporting materials testing operations, and providing mentorship to junior team members. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions for our clients while contributing to the continued growth of our geotechnical services.

Salary 

• $80,000 – $100,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and detailed geotechnical investigation reports and engineering recommendations.
• Prepare excess soil management documentation and recommendations in accordance with Ontario Regulation 406/19.
• Plan, coordinate, and perform field investigations including borehole drilling programs, test pit investigations, subgrade inspections, and groundwater monitoring installations.
• Review and interpret field and laboratory data to support engineering analysis and design recommendations.
• Provide senior oversight and guidance for construction inspection and materials testing projects.
• Mentor, train, and support junior technical staff.
• Support project management activities, including scheduling, client communication, and proposal preparation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
• Significant experience in geotechnical engineering investigation, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with excess soil management requirements under Ontario Regulation 406/19 is considered an asset.
• Strong technical writing, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Valid Class G driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Ontario.

Working Conditions

• Primarily office-based work involving prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
• Field work and site visits throughout Ontario.
• Work may be performed on active construction sites, development sites, aggregate operations, and other industrial or outdoor environments.
• Frequent walking over uneven terrain and exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and handling of field equipment and sampling materials.
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all site-specific health and safety requirements.

Position Overview

The Project Manager is a project delivery professional responsible for leading complex and multi‑disciplinary engineering projects across GRIT Engineering. This role carries accountability for delivery performance, financial control, risk management, and client confidence.

The Project Manager is relied upon to lead work that spans Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, and Survey‑supported projects, often involving multiple internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory requirements. The role requires strong professional judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to independently stabilize, guide, and successfully deliver projects where complexity, scale, or risk demands a high level of project management experience.

Salary

• $60,000 – $100,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead complex and multi‑disciplinary engineering projects from initiation through close‑out, with full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, delivery strategies, and execution controls appropriate to project complexity
• Monitor project performance and take early, decisive action to address schedule, budget, resourcing, or risk issues
• Apply sound judgment to resolve delivery challenges and determine when escalation is required
• Manage project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing
• Support or lead contract administration activities, including RFIs, change requests, progress claims, and issue resolution
• Serve as a primary project contact and experienced delivery resource for clients and stakeholders
• Build long‑term client trust through clarity, reliability, and delivery consistency
• Coordinate effectively with Engineers, designers, drafters, and field staff across divisions
• Apply consistent project management standards while adapting to differing technical, regulatory, and delivery contexts
• Ensure projects comply with internal QA/QC requirements, project management standards, and regulatory expectations
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, including technical, financial, schedule, and reputational risks

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of progressive project management experience, preferably in an engineering, construction, or consulting environment
• Demonstrated success delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, disciplines, and constraints
• Proven accountability for full project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk
• Strong working knowledge of project delivery fundamentals, contract administration, and financial controls
• Ability to operate independently, apply sound professional judgment, and lead through complexity
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• PMP designation is an asset

Working Conditions

• Primarily office‑based with occasional site visits as required to support project delivery
• Flexible hours may be required to meet project or client needs

Position Overview

In this position, the successful candidate should be fully capable of conducting topographical land surveys, and construction layouts using robotic total stations, GNSS and levelling equipment. Familiarity in spatial analysis, and spatial data management required for post processing and verification of field data. The Survey Field Technician should be experienced engineering surveying for site development. This individual will work closely with the civil engineering division on a variety of site development, grading and construction layout projects.

Salary

• Starting at $35.oo per hour 

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the successful completion of all projects
• Providing leadership, guidance, training, evaluation and expertise to junior and intermediate technicians
• Capable of completing plan review for completeness of survey
• Provide technical expertise in the areas of safety, surveying methods, and practices
• Maintain detailed and accurate field records
• Utilize GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, and Levelling survey equipment
• Conduct topographical surveys
• Create and maintain detailed survey information
• Accurately indicate elevations, property lines and land contours
• Accurately manage spatial data
• Interpret aerial photographs
• Construction Layout
• Interact with governing bodies, planners, landowners, real estate agents and other interested parties
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• BSc. in Applied Science, Geology or its equivalent, OR completion of an accredited surveying/geomatics program an asset. Significant experience in lieu will be considered
• Experience leading survey field crews
• Strong working knowledge of complex surveyor’s tools and GPS equipment
• Adaptable to changing priorities and procedures.
• Self-motivated, strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
• Excellent organizational, communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
• Strong mathematical skills as applicable to the position.
• Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementation skills.
• Knowledge of Trimble field software an asset

Working Conditions

• Fieldwork involves exposure to varying weather conditions, rough terrain, construction sites, and active drilling operations.
• Required to travel to project sites throughout Ontario.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including hard hats, CSA-approved safety boots, high-visibility clothing, and other safety gear as applicable.
• Work may involve prolonged standing, walking, bending, and handling field instruments.
