Director of Environmental Engineering

Spencer is an experienced environmental engineer dedicated to helping clients achieve their environmental goals. His addition to GRIT realized the establishment of GRIT’s Environmental Services Division. As the Director of Environmental Engineering, Spencer oversees a wide range of environmental engineering disciplines, including environmental site assessment, air and noise assessment, and environmental permitting, planning and management.

He is a Qualified Person in the province of Ontario under O. Reg. 153/04 (Records of Site Condition) and O. Reg. 406/19 (Excess Soils) and has extensive experience in a diversity of sectors including municipal, industrial, government, and institutional. His comprehensive approach and industry knowledge enable him to provide effective solutions tailored to meet diverse environmental needs. Spencer holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario.

With over a decade of experience, Spencer is known for providing practical and cost-effective solutions to environmental challenges. He also has an extensive history of training and educating stakeholders in environmental and regulatory topics, further demonstrating his commitment to advancing industry standards and practices. He represents GRIT at the Huron Manufacturer’s Association (HMA) and the Ontario Agri Business Association (OABA).
